This is the complete score I composed for James Moutsos’ stop-motion animated adventure comedy film Kid Nature.

Awards & Accolades:

  • Official Selection, Bushwick Film Festival

  • Official Selection, Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival

Kid Nature is a heartfelt and hilarious adventure film about a young middle schooler who leaves mid-class to escape into the forest. When he discovers a preschooler hiding in his backpack to win a game of Hide and Seek, the two learn the value of friendship and companionship as they face off against the forces of the wilderness.

Though the film is made using miniatures, the story and its themes are larger than life, and director James Moutsos was adamant about incorporating organic sounds from across the world in the film’s score. With his unique and strong direction combined with my experience in composing for orchestra, the score for Kid Nature is without a doubt one of the most rewarding and fun projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on.

All of the composition and recording was done digitally, using Spitfire Audio’s BBC Symphony Orchestra Core VST in Logic Pro X, but through delicate mixing, I was able to achieve a full, classic, orchestral sound.
